Corrugation Machinery Brands — Complete History & India Guide
Every corrugation machinery brand in India — BHS (Germany), Fosber (Italy), Peters/EMBA (Sweden/Germany), Marquip Ward United (USA), and Indian manufacturers Natraj, Vega, and TCY. Corrugators, flexo die-cutters, folder-gluers, and converting lines.
India's corrugated packaging market is one of the largest in Asia — producing corrugated boxes for every sector of the economy from agriculture (fruit boxes, vegetable crates) to e-commerce (Amazon, Flipkart boxes), FMCG (Nestlé, HUL outer packaging), pharmaceuticals, electronics, and engineering goods. The industry runs on corrugated board produced by corrugators (machines that glue fluted paper between flat liners) and then converted by flexo printers, die-cutters, and folder-gluers into finished boxes. Key India corrugation clusters: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata. The market is split between imported European premium machinery (BHS, Fosber) and domestically manufactured machines (Natraj, Vega, TCY) that serve the large segment of smaller Indian corrugated box manufacturers.
BHS Corrugated is the world's largest manufacturer of corrugated board production systems. Their corrugators are the choice of India's largest integrated corrugated packaging manufacturers — ITC Packaging, Smurfit Kappa India, DS Group, and major private corrugated mills. A BHS corrugator is a complete production line — sometimes 100+ metres long — that takes paper reels and produces finished corrugated board at speeds up to 400m/min. BHS India has been active since the 1990s and has built a significant installed base in India's organised corrugated sector. BHS India ↗

Fosber SpA (now part of the Fosber Group) was founded in 1978 in Lucca, Italy — the Lucca region is the global centre of the paper and packaging machinery industry. Fosber competes directly with BHS at the premium end of the corrugated machinery market and is the second most installed premium corrugator brand in India. Their corrugator lines and converting equipment are found at India's major integrated corrugated packaging manufacturers. Fosber's converting lines (flexo printers, die-cutters, folder-gluers) are also sold independently for plants upgrading their converting capability.

Peters Maschinenfabrik (Germany) and EMBA Machinery (Sweden) are specialist manufacturers of corrugated converting machinery — flexo printers, die-cutters, folder-gluers, and rotary die-cutters — rather than full corrugator lines. Both brands are found in India's corrugated box plants where the corrugated board is produced on a BHS/Fosber/domestic corrugator and then converted into boxes on Peters or EMBA converting lines. Peters and EMBA converting machines are known for high-quality flexo print on corrugated board — important for the growing pre-print and post-print quality requirements of e-commerce and FMCG packaging.

Used by box manufacturers producing high-quality printed corrugated packaging for e-commerce, FMCG, and export. EMBA products ↗ | Current |
| Peters rotary die-cutter | Rotary die-cutting for complex box shapes | Used for complex box shapes — trays, display units, unusual apertures — that cannot be produced on a standard flexo folder-gluer. Peters rotary die-cutters are found at India's premium corrugated converters producing display packaging and retail-ready packaging. peters.de ↗ | Current |
The vast majority of India's corrugated box manufacturers — thousands of small and medium factories across every industrial area — cannot afford BHS or Fosber corrugators costing ₹15–60 crore. Indian manufacturers fill this market with domestically produced corrugators, flexo printers, and converting equipment at prices 5–15× lower than European equivalents. The quality and speed are lower — Indian machines typically run at 60–120m/min versus 200–400m/min for European corrugators — but they serve the enormous Indian SME corrugated market effectively. Natraj, Vega, and TCY are the three most significant Indian corrugation machinery manufacturers.
