Ricoh Pro Digital Presses: Complete History & All Models
Every Ricoh Pro production press — from the Ricoh/Heidelberg Digital era through the complete Pro C and Pro VC series. Japan's most complete digital press range for Indian commercial, transactional, and publishing print.
Ricoh is one of the world's largest manufacturers of office and production printing equipment. Founded in 1936, Ricoh entered production digital printing through its acquisition of Heidelberg's digital printing division in 2007 and has grown into a major force in the production press market. The Pro C series (toner) and Pro VC series (inkjet) cover everything from 70 ppm entry production to flagship high-speed continuous inkjet. In India, Ricoh Pro presses are widely installed in commercial digital printers, transactional print operations, publishing houses, and corporate print centres.
In 2007, Heidelberg sold its entire digital printing division to Ricoh. This is why some older "Heidelberg Digital" presses are mechanically identical to early Ricoh Pro models — they were the same machines under a different badge. When Heidelberg later re-entered digital printing with the Versafire range (which is also built on Ricoh engines), the relationship came full circle. For Indian buyers with older Heidelberg Digital presses: service and parts are now through Ricoh India.

For the Heidelberg Versafire connection: Heidelberg's Versafire range (sold through Heidelberg India) uses Ricoh Pro engines. If you are comparing Versafire vs Ricoh Pro direct, you are comparing the same underlying machine with different workflows and service relationships. The Versafire advantage is Prinect integration; the Ricoh Pro direct advantage is price and direct Ricoh India support.
