Screen is one of Japan's most technically sophisticated print technology companies. They are best known in India for their PlateRite CTP (Computer-to-Plate) platesetters — which are used in hundreds of Indian offset print plants. Their Truepress range extends this technology leadership into digital production printing with inkjet presses known for exceptional image quality and colour accuracy. Screen is not a mass-market digital press vendor — their Truepress presses are positioned as premium specialist equipment for demanding print quality requirements.
Screen has two significant India presences that are often confused:
1. Screen PlateRite CTP platesetters — used for making printing plates in offset print plants. The PlateRite 4300, 8600, 8900 and other models are among the most widely installed CTP platesetters in India's commercial and packaging print industry. Many Indian offset printers who have never considered a Screen digital press have a Screen PlateRite in their prepress room.
2. Screen Truepress digital production presses — inkjet and toner production presses for commercial digital printing. These are a separate product line and are sold to digital print operations rather than offset plants.
